Shoshone National Forest
 Shoshone National Forest, the nation’s first national forest. The Shoshone National Forest, named for the Shoshone Indians who used the area as a hunting ground contains approximately two and a half million acres. It is one of the largest of the 13 national forests in the Rocky Mountain region.
